Blissful Saturday

The last few weeks have been beautiful and for the first time ever really we took advantage of our beach all day.

Not a soul on the beach, not a boat in the water and not a cloud in the sky.  What a day! Even Lola went for a dip.

Paddle Board Evenings

Ear infection gone, water still beautiful, we are taking full advantage with some evenings in the Ocean.  We have finally got the paddle board up and running after a long hiatus and Sebastian is a natural.  When this becomes an Olympic sport he just might be going for gold.  The real question will be, what country he would be paddling for!

He is a rockstar.

Sebastian Starts Preschool

I guess this is it, school from here onwards for probably the next 20 something years (depending no how long it takes him to complete his PHD of course).  We were hoping the two weeks at Sinead's would help soften the blow but no such luck.  There have been more than a few tears... from everyone.  Today at the end of day two, things seemed brighter and I am hoping by the end of the week it becomes a little easier.  I do like the little school though and happy with all their Covoid measures as most schools in the island are totally shut or half online.  Thankfully, Sebastian is in full time.

First couple of days, super sweet
Baking some vegan chocolate, no sugar treats.

And the last few days have been spectacular.  Our beach looks amazing and the water so nice and warm.  Beautiful.

Shea in Somerset

Well it seems like Shea is just going to go around the world meeting my family and friends.  Last year she went to Barbados and this past weekend she found herself in Bruton at Matts place.  I was so excited she went as it is one of my favourite places in the world.  She went with a friend and they loved it.  It is also helpful when Matt comes to see us in November that he will know a friendly face.

These made me so happy!

Busy Busy Busy

The weekend finally came and a busy one it was.  Friday we took the Anderson's to dinner to say thank you for looking after Sebastian over the past two weeks.

The usual Banana Bay
Sinead sent me this picture Friday and I just love it.
Saturday we had a few people over for ceviche and games.

Everyone had a great time and some might have even broken curfew.
Sunday morning Sebastian and myself tried to fix the piƱata I had made for Ewan's 7th birthday but it just would not dry.  It is so crazy humid here and over the last three days it just refused to dry.
The paint would not dry either and poor Spiderman melted away.

We had to do it a little differently as we could not even hang it.

A very busy weekend and then we had to get Sebastian ready for his first day of school on Monday.  I need a break after this weekend.

What a Week!

It has been the hardest week.  I have no idea how we will pull the rest of the year off, but I know we will be tired.  I just cannot seem to catch my breathe.  The first week of school has been difficult, blended learning (half online), Sebastian with ear infections and not sleeping, Lola with ear infections and also needing extra night walks.  Between work, visiting vets, visiting hospitals, keeping up with planning, dropping and collecting Sebastian at Sinead's I think that I have slept four hours.  Total. And it is only Thursday! I have never been so excited to see a weekend.

And just to add insult to injury, this is how the water has been all week.  Crystal clear, super calm and bath temperature.  My favourite.  But no beach for us, as Sebastian cannot go.  And it very rarely is like this for a week straight.  Okay, whining done, I know we have it pretty good and my children will get better. And I will sleep again, albeit in a few years.

Newbie Welcome

It is not easy entering a new country and school but even harder with a pandemic going on.  Our start here last year was horrible and I really wanted to make sure the new staff had more of a welcome.  I put on a few events over the last week, as seen in previous post.  This Friday I set up a bit of an after school bar session and Saturday we had a beach picnic at ours.  They are a very nice group and expect we will all get on very well.

Sandbar on Friday

Beach picnic and Amanda's game Saturday.  I think it was a nice welcome for them and I love hosting so perfect for me.
