It was another crazy busy week here as we prepped for the launch of Luchanda's Vegan Stall. We were testing dishes and driving all around the island for sustainable containers and ingredients. We finally narrowed it down to four initial dishes and were ready for our Saturday market day launch. Luis did an amazing job with almost everything, I did the roti's and a last-minute lasagna. We had a great morning and it was a hit. We came back empty-handed and super excited to start preparing for next week. We might actually finally afford to live here!
All about our past adventures in and around Phuket Thailand and our newest in Grand Bahama, The Bahamas with the newest member of our family, Sebastian :)

Luchanda's Vegan Food
Sebastian Henry Canadian
He was always Canadian, just from being my son. But I cannot say that I was not over the moon to see his Canadian citizenship certificate. Sebastian is so fortunate to be able to claim so many fantastic nationalities. By the time we are done them all, he will have four or five. Here is hoping if he does choose to marry one day, it is to someone super exotic with another Nationality to throw in the mix but if not I think he will get by with the ones he has.

Golf Day
What a great day! We were invited to go with Megan and Chris to play golf and Alison and Simon offered to look after Sebastian. It is only a 9 hole golf course but I think we would have been there for a few days if it was 18. I must say though, both Luis and I were 100 times better by the end. I even got a 5 and a few 6's on par fours. I also think there were one or two holes where I was closer to 20 shots with water and bushes that kept getting in the way.
Banana Bay Friday and Rainy Saturday
Friday we went to the Friday spot for kids. It is where I do most of my toddler potential friends for Sebastian stalking. The food, in my opinion, is terrible, the service not brilliant but there is no denying it is a spectacular setting and a great place for friend hunting.
We have also made some pretty good friends ourselves here.
Saturday saw some serious rain. Sebastian loved it, he kept saying one more time to go and play in it.
And we had a nice evening with Bruce, Sebastian is so close to saying his name. HE just adores him.
First 'Toddler Moment'
What a week?! I feel like I have had not had two seconds for anything until today. We had parent conferences this week which meant even more hours looking at our computers. I really cannot stand looking at myself in these meetings, by the end of the even I feel that I aged a decade. It is certainly one of the many things I will not miss about online teaching. To treat ourselves during this busy week I ordered us dinner from our favourite vegan cafe. I arrived just as they were closing (I had preordered) and instead of just picking up my food and going on my way I asked about a smoothie for Sebastian. The owners are Axel's parents (his BFF), so I felt bad as I know they were just about to go but they insisted as Sebastian loves them. And that was where the disasters started. First, Nakita accidentally put almond milk and Sebastian is allergic. I told her it was really not a problem and not to make another. But she would not hear of it, went and cleaned the blender as I could see her husband thinking he just wanted to get home to his son. She handed it to me and it took about 30 seconds before Sebastian knocked it out of my hand (by accident) and it went flying everywhere.
I only thought to take a picture after Emilio started cleaning it up but it was all over the wall across as well. I then say I must pay and get out before something else happens. I barely get the words out and I hear smash, glass flying everywhere, Sebastian has knocked a candle from the display cabinet. Not any candle, but a 35 dollar candle (at this point I would have paid a lot more for it, I was so embarrassed). So now there is smoothie and glass everywhere.

Baby Group Fun
I am not only busy trying to establish a wine club on the island but more importantly a baby group. Sadly, Alison will not be here next academic year and we need to have somewhere for Sebastian to go while we are at work. Oh and sad does not even cover how devastated we are that her and Simon are leaving but they are. We have heard a few private sort of baby/toddler day care services (basically small groups doing it under the table) and we need to get in one! And of course, I just want to see him playing with other children and getting to know other families on the island. I was so sad Sunday morning as it seemed like no one was going to make it and it would be a bit of a flop and then cars started pulling up. I was so not prepared! But we had four toddlers, one baby and it was fabulous.
They stayed almost three hours and then we all crashed for almost a two hour nap, which never ever happens!
I then took Sebastian to the botanical gardens for a run around while Luis got some work done.
And finished a perfect weekend with a walk with Bruce. Sebastian does not get past this digger, ever.
Gold Rock Beach
This is a beach on the East side of the island that we heard was rated one of the top ten beaches in the world. I know this usually does not mean much as every country I have visited that has beaches claims this fact. But I must say this has got to be one of the most beautiful beaches I have been too. Not if you look behind the beach, towards land as the recent category five hurricane left disaster in its path but sitting on this huge beach and looking forward it is fantastic. Actually even if you look behind it is just some blown down trees and ripped up vegetation, it is just not landscaped to perfection and what does that matter.
As you can see it was very busy this Saturday... It feels like you are all alone in paradise.
One More.. Sebastian's favourite thing, which of course does not mean one more at all. I think he got it from cousin Freda!
We are waiting to welcome family and friends once this stupid thing is over! There is definitely some pretty great beaches.
