To be honest when we first arrived I was a little disappointed. One it was chilly, like properly chilly and the first look at the beach involved a dog incident that probably did not help. But we got our bearings, and found the most gorgeous beach and by mid day we were back in the 30 degree range. Now I just love it, super laid back, very few tourists and everything is still very local and beautiful.
Another great day.
I am so happy that we were able to come back to Bagan before it changes too much. We had so many special moments here and it was lovely to see how moved the Hopkins/Fisk clan were everywhere we went. Our final night Pipa really wanted to go see a Puppet show, as they are special to Bagan and I am so happy we did. It was an amazing experience, a few tears were shed and we shared the restaurant with a group of Monks. It was fabulous.
Sebastian loved loved the puppet show. I thought he would be a little scared but he just laughed and jumped the whole time. He loved the dancers as well, it was just a wonderful evening.
We have now moved to the beach, the Bay of Bengal.
Back in beautiful Bagan after three years with some special people. We loved this place when we came three years ago and it is safe to say the magic is still here. So happy to share it with the Hopkin/Fisk clan and of course Sebastian!
This place is truly the most amazing place. The temples, the river, the calmness, the beauty, it really is just a special place.
Our annual Hopkin/Fisk adventure has begun! This time it takes us out of Thailand and to nearby Myanmar. Bagan is one of Luis's favourite spots in Asia and we just knew that they would love it there. Through in a little beach time and everyone is happy. They flew in yesterday morning and we went straight to the biggest temple in Yangon before flying out to Bagan. Advent readers might remember that we thought we went to this temple three years ago only to learn we went to a much smaller one. But we made it eventually!
It was very impressive, and even more impressive is the Hopkin/Fisk team up for over 30 hours and still enjoying the adventures in the hot sun.
It is so wonderful to have them with us!
