Bingo Wednesday

I love hanging out with this family, one of my Phuket favourites, nope actually scratch that, all over world favourites. In fact, I don't often volunteer baby sitting services but would take all these kiddos even on a Friday night.  They are our fellow vegan club founders, and we were excited to show them our new favourite dinner spot, Chang Mai restaurant.   It was a pretty exciting evening as a long with great food we also played a pretty intense game of bingo (on the weekend was Vivi's birthday and we gave her a new bingo game that she brought a long for some dinner time fun).

Guess who got the first bingo?  And how amazing is the shirt!
But I failed to get the full board, Levi stole that win from me.
I love these people, always a great time with them.  Each of the kids just crack me up in their own special way and their parents are pretty cool as well.

Paddle Boards

We finally got beach toys!  I happened to see a half price sale on inflatable paddle boards last week and decided what is the point of not having totally maxed out credit cards so now we have two paddle boards.  They are great, I thought they might be a pain to blow up and different then the real boards but actually I think it would be hard to know that they are inflatable unless you knew (or saw it in the bag first!).  We have been very lucky with rainy weekdays and stunning weekends since we have been back and this weekend is no different.  The minute Luis finished tutoring we were off to try them out.

It was an all round fabulous day.  The weather, we loved the boards and most of all we loved watching Lola swimming in the sea.  I actually think yesterday would go down as one of Lola's top days, she swam across a rough channel twice to get a to a crab infested island, chased birds, rolled in the sand and even rode on the paddle board.

Cafe Del Mar

Before we got married we spent five days a week salsa dancing and practising for the big day, and we have not been since.  There is one regular salsa spot in Phuket but it is about an hour drive away, so not ideal.  Hence, I was super excited to learn that a beach club not so far away is having latin nights on Friday, sadly Luis works these nights but I knew I could get some ladies on the latin train.  Kim lives just down the beach from the spot and hosted everyone before we headed down to the dancing.
 Pre drink and dinner
 Then the ladies were off

I have definitely regressed over the past two years,  have to go back often now to practise and get some my old moves back!

Jodi and Dylan in Phuket

It is so great that Jodi and Dylan moved to Singapore the same time we moved here and better yet that Malaysia is now filling up with some familiar faces.  It means very little time has to go by before we get to meet up with some of some of our Ecua friends, Jimmy last weekend, Jodi and Dylan this week and soon we are off to see Jimmy and Jessica.  We met Jodi, Dylan and River (Isla was sadly sleeping) for dinner at their lovely Marriot village guest house last night.  Unfortunately my fuzzy pictures is just how fuzzy my head felt as well.  Having battled off sickness for the last few weeks with many ill kids around me I succumbed on Wednesday and am now feeling rather crap.   But I am on the hot tea, lots of fluids and determined to get rid of these germs as soon as possible.

Had a bit of a catch up, some grub and then played a few hands of cards.  Great to see them!

Charlie, Jacqui, Quinlan and Kim

Jimmy was very lucky, the minute he left the rainy season set in.   The rain has come down hard and I would even say that I am  actually feeling cool (although most would disagree with that).  But on the positive side the rain finally brought our kinda new cat, Charlie, a little closer to us.  I bought Charlie a bed about a month ago (she has been visiting us for a few months for a little food and a cuddle) but she never used it.  Lola is not thrilled about this so Charlie hangs outside or sits in the open window sill watching TV with us.  Anyways, finally she is using the bed so I am so happy!
Luis snapped the shot, how cute is she!

Jacqui and Quinlan are also now back to enjoy the rainy season.  Luis was right in there having a cuddle, he is so good with babies.

And tonight the three of us got to catch up after a delicious Khao Soi (Kim made the first picture, inside joke but had to post it!).

Anantara Layan Breakfast Again

This is my new favourite spot, super close to us, very cheap beautiful breakfast and lets not forget about the view, fantastic.  With Jimmy here for the weekend I tried to check all boxes with maximum time at the beach.  A few other people joined us and we had a great meal followed by some relaxing time on the beach.

I thought it was so funny that they obviously had a vegan corner card made but put nothing in that corner!
So I added something to it.  It was okay, as they had lots of curry I could eat anyways.

 The beach!
I have never seen a rainbow around the sun before, amazing!  What a great weekend and Jimmy was super lucky as today is pouring rain!

Nai Harn with the Kids

Yesterday was a glorious day to bring our two wanna be kids Emma and Jimmy (not a very funny story but that is how we played out the day) to the beach.  I love Nai Harn, I hate the traffic to and from but we do love the Southern tip of Phuket.  We got a couple paddle boards, a boogie board, we let the kids have some beer and then we had a delightful day at the beach.

Oh and of course Lola came, her day was magical.
Then this happened!  The best Vegan Ko Soi I have ever had (and the only one), and it is right by our house.  My new favourite restaurant times ten.
Jimmy Sparkles must be charmed as we have awoken to another superb day in the height of the rainy season.
