Celebrating Alison and Simon

On Saturday a group of us surprised Alison with a night away in the all inclusive hotel that just happens to be next door to us.   It was bizarre though as even though it is next door and shares a beach with us it feels totally different being in the hotel.  All inclusive resorts are definitely not my thing and I have not been swayed by our stay. But we did have a fabulous time and $80 for two days it is a bargain.

Sebastian had the best time. He must have jumped in the pool 1000 times over the two days.

Of course there were team hats.

Unfortunately Simon could not join us but I think Alison had enough fun for both of them.  A great send off and way to spend the weekend.

Sebastian Henry's Friends

I love that Sebastian is making his own crew.  Seeing him playing with other children is one of my favourite things.  Yesterday he was invited out on a beach playdate and we were so thankful that Alison could take him, possibly also a little jealous! It looks like they had a great morning.

These pictures make me so happy!

Fish Fry Fun (I go for the music not the fish)

This is with out a doubt my favourite night time activity on the island.  I cannot believe we only discovered it at the end of the school year.  Last night I went with Alison to say goodbye to Shea who is leaving for four months.  What I find funny is that people love the vibe there but not really a fan of the music.  I was like WHAT!! It plays the BEST BEST music.  I just cannot believe that everyone does not love it, so bizarre to me!

It was also so busy.  The tourism has picked up here loads since fully vaccinated people have been allowed in with no other rules.  So far no big spikes but it is early days so I am still holding my breathe.

Cosmos and Beach Babies

We had a lovely long weekend starting off with Bruce's 70th and ending with babies on the beach.  In the middle of all this fun we had a great night with Sinead and Peter with a few cosmos and a jam session (thankfully for all I did little jamming and more cosmos).  Sebastian played the guitar like a 22 month old champ and I cannot wait to get him his own.  Sunday we had a beach picnic with some of the babies on the island.  A great weekend had by all.

It is always a delight to see this family and Sebastian has now added Emmy to his list of words.

It is so lovely to see him on the beach with all these other children.

Bruce's 70th

All week Bruce was feeling under the weather and it did not sound like he was overly keen to celebrate his 70th, which of course had me worried as obviously I was not going to let the day just pass unmarked.  I am actually not very good at taking hints that people don't want to have a party or possibly I just chose not to hear.  Either way the surprise birthday lunch was a huge hit and in the end I knew it was the right thing to do.  He had as many loved ones around as COVOID would allow and it was a super special day for a super special man.

In the morning Bruce came for breakfast and presents.  Sebastian made him a card and his very own picture book.

Some of Bruce's friends from the island.

Technically we have only known Bruce for 10 months but as we spend everyday together it feels like we have known him for so much longer.  Sebastian and him have such a special relationship and I am so happy he is in our lives.  But we love him loads!
