Gold Rock Adventure

The holidays seem to be flying by.  Always the way, the first few days creep by and then boom it is almost over.  We went on an adventure with Emmy, Ewan, Simon and Alison yesterday to the Caves and Gold Rock Beach.  It was a beautiful day, we had the caves and the entire beach to ourselves and we made the most of it.

Another fun filled adventure day.

Easter 2021

What a fantastic Easter Sunday we had. The company, all the delicious food everyone brought, treasure hunt, Easter Quiz and football match (girls won) made it an Easter to remember.

Sebastian started off the celebrations by painting eggs.  This was his first one, he did it all himself.  Beautiful!

All set and ready to go.

My family in the Bahamas.  I do not believe you cannot chose your family.  I am super lucky to have fabulous actual family and I also make additional families everywhere I live.

I was so proud of my clever little hunt and the kids were so excited to find the clues.

Football match, I even scored two goals.  I hate to brag but one might have been the winning shot.

A terrific day.  Usually we are traveling all the holidays and I must say it was super nice to actually celebrate Easter this way.

Dominating at Dominoes

I love dominoes, I have not played in probably almost 20 years but I love it.  In my early, to mid-twenties, I played loads and was quite good (if I do say so myself).  But like I said I have not played in years, mainly as it has not been something play in other countries I have lived... until now.  The other day Chris, a friend at school's husband was talking about how much he loves it.  He is from the Bahamas and it is a thing here too.  Last night they came over for dinner and I suggested bringing along the dominoes.   It all came flooding back and I would not like to brag but guess who won.  It was a great night, it would have been either way but it was the cherry on top of the cake.  Actually, I hate cherries, it was the glass of wine to go along with the cake!

It was also Megan's birthday earlier on in the week so a reason to celebrate.

Old Bahama Bay

This island feels tiny (mainly because of its tiny population) but in fact, it is huge.  Yesterday we took Ewan and Emmy on an adventure day out to the most Western point of the island to a hotel called Old Bahama Bay.  It was a long but lovely one as we went through lots of small villages that I much prefer to anything we have around us.  I look forward to the next time we do it with a little more time on our hands and I will take loads of photos.  We had a great day with them, swimming, finding sea creatures, having lunch, making friends, and finished up with some frozen yogurt.

Sinead could not thank us enough for taking the kids.  But I was very thankful to her as they are so lovely and make us do fun exciting things we might not have done otherwise.  It was a great day.
