Leaving Party to End all Leaving Parties

 He came, he went and he left a big mark on the community.  Matt had two great weeks here and has decided to come back in January to hang out with his new crew.  His leaving party was pretty epic for someone who had only been here two weeks. I am quite positive the Sand Bar has not been like that for years.

After a night, literally on the bar, it was wonderful to wake up to a stunning day.

Matt took us to brunch and then we chilled on our beach for a bit.

Then he was off.  I think this picture captures the love that was created between these two.  It was lovely to have him and I am so happy he loved it so much.

Matt's Last Weekend

 I should say it is his last weekend for 2021 as he has already planned his return trip for January.  It is safe to say he has had a fantastic holiday and this final weekend the weather has been exceptional.  Friday I took the day off and we found an empty beach to play on (there are many here).

We also enjoyed a final dinner together at our local favourite The Sand Bar.

Matt's Kitchen in The Bahamas

 Last night Matt very kindly made a four-course meal for The Grand Bahamas Ladies Wine Club.  It was beyond amazing.  The wine club is always special but this one was off the scale.

Matt has been loving it here.  He has a host of new friends and is already planning his return.  

Sand Bar Saturday

 I had to change our plans several times as the weather just kept changing but in the end, we decided on a Sand Bar night. If we had come to The Bahamas before having Sebastian this would have certainly become a local bar that we visited far more frequently.  It has such a good vibe, great staff, and is a five-minute walk up the beach.  

It was a windy rainy day but Luis and Matt still went diving in the morning.  Sebastian and I had a great brunch and play together.  We all met for lunch after at Banana Bay. 

We then headed to the Sand Bar.  Matt was a huge hit, he had the whole table in hysterics.  The picture above is not staged at all, they were all fully focused on him the entire time.  In fact, he is so popular we have not seen much of him in the last half of his first week and now he is all booked up for the second half!

Wednesday Fish Fry, Friday Night Date Night

 Needless to say we have been crazy busy and somewhere somehow we are fitting work in as well.  I am a bit behind in the posts, usually, with guests, I post every day.  But, well, it is busy.  Wednesday we had a fish fry night, Thursday break night, and Friday Matt and Amanda date night.

Wednesday we had a great night.  I love fish fry (even though clearly do not eat fish) and we do not get there nearly enough.

Friday Matt took me out to dinner.  I am sure we started loads of rumours as I bumped into my students.  Lovely to have a meal out, it was very buzzy and had a great atmosphere.

Taco Tuesday

 It probably should have been Fajita Friday as I ran into some pretty hazy-looking teachers today but we wanted Matt to meet some people early on his trip.  It is also pretty amazing hosting without doing any cooking (always good to have a chef as a guest).  

Matt and Shea reunited after her trip to the UK in September.  A fun night had by all.  Today is not so fun for many of the guests though!

Matt's In De House

 We have been super excited to greet our current visitor, Matt from Bruton!  He has visited me in loads of my 'homes' over the years and I am so happy to have him here now.  He arrived Sunday night and we have been having a great time catching up and showing him around.  Lots of fun to be had over the next two weeks for sure.

He is off on his own adventures today.  Hopefully, he does not get too lost and tonight he will meet our Bahamian crew.  Going to be great!
